Admitted Student Day will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026. Our sessions will be from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM in Todd Hall.

Our faculty-led sessions will highlight different areas of liberal arts, and these are open to all students regardless of declared major.

Are you wondering how your dual enrollment/AP/IB classes will count toward your college degree? Unsure if you can finish your degree in four years? This session will address these common concerns and more. MTSU’s College of Liberal Arts Advisors will be available to answer your questions, help you understand how to maximize your transfer credits, and connect with resources that support your success. Waging War Within the Rules

Political and Global Affairs / Communication

Step into the role of a decision-maker navigating the complex ethical and legal challenges of nuclear warfare. Guided by key principles of international humanitarian law, participants will decide how to wage war against an “enemy” village. Will you uphold the laws of war, or will your choices lead to unintended consequences? Engage in this thought-provoking experience to test your judgment and deepen your understanding of international humanitarian law.

Visual Storytelling

Public Writing and Rhetoric / Art

The Public Writing and Rhetoric (PWR) program offers a variety of courses focused on writing with digital technologies, including courses focused on video games. Stop by for a hands-on demonstration of some of the games students play and make in PWR courses, and try your own hand at interactive storytelling. You will also see how students use digital coloring techniques to bring black and white illustrations to life using digital tools.

Same World, Different Lenses

Sociology and Anthropology

You will be asked to take a stand on current social issues by choosing responses like Strongly Agree or Disagree. As the room fills with different viewpoints, we will step back and look for patterns in how people think and respond.

Enjoy snacks from different cultures and browse objects and images from communities across the United States and around the world, from the past and present. These moments often spark conversations you do not expect and perspectives you may not have considered.

World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures /
Philosophy and Religious Studies / History

Step up and test your knowledge in a fast paced, Jeopardy style trivia game covering literature, history, international cultures, and philosophy. You will answer questions, think on your feet, and pick up new insights along the way.

Play for bragging rights and candy prizes while discovering how topics from the humanities connect to the world around you and to the questions people still ask today.

The Art of Propoganda

History / Art

Take a closer look at how images and messages have been used to influence opinions, shape beliefs, and tell powerful stories throughout history. In this activity, you will explore examples of propaganda from different time periods and cultures and see how art and history work together to persuade audiences.

Tucker Theatre All-Access

Theatre and Dance
9:30am / 10:30am in Tucker Theatre (depart from TODD 1st Fl)
Go behind the scenes of Tucker Theatre and see what happens before the curtain goes up. During this all access tour, you will explore the Boutwell Dramatic Arts Building and step inside the production spaces that bring performances to life.

You will visit areas such as the costume shop, scenic shop, makeup lab, and lighting lab, and learn how students and faculty work together to create live theatre from start to finish.

Music Q&A for non-music majors

Interested in music but not planning to major in it? This open Q&A session is for you. You will learn how non music majors can stay involved in music at MTSU through ensembles, performance groups, music minors and opportunities like Band of Blue.

Faculty and current students will answer questions and explain how you can fit music into your schedule, no matter your major.

Faculty and current students will answer questions and explain how you can stay involved, build skills, and perform while pursuing another major.
