College of Liberal Arts
CLA Faculty Research/Creative Activity Fund
The College of Liberal Arts has established the Research/Creative Activity Fund to supplement or enhance existing funding in support of CLA faculty research/creative activity. Individuals may receive only one award per academic year.
Funds will be administered by a three-person committee appointed by the CLA Dean. The committee will include one faculty member from each of the college pillars: arts, social sciences, and humanities.
Review of funding applications will take place three times annually:
- 3rd Monday of the Fall Semester
- 3rd Monday of the Spring Semester
- Monday following Spring Commencement
Application Requirements:
- Research/Creativity Activity Project Description noting benefit to teaching and/or service
- Proposed use of funds
- Comprehensive project budget
- Additional sources of funding
- Letter of support from department chair
Successful applications will demonstrate a benefit of the activity to the applicant’s teaching and/or service portfolio and will include evidence of other funding sources beyond the CLA Research/Creative Activity Fund. Conference travel may be considered on a case by case basis for significant contributions and presentations. Faculty must include a brief statement of support from their department chair, attached in the Supporting Documentation section of the Funding Request Application. For submission questions, please contact the CLA Dean’s Office.
